This example is extremely well equipped with nearly every upgraded factory option and is painted a one-off shade of Copper with a special gun-metal metallic frame and matching wheels. (Special copper paint code is actually copyrighted by a client of ours and we had his permission to do ONE CAR ONLY in this color). There will never be another Atom 3 painted in this color! It also has a clear-bra installed to protect the vulnerable areas from rock chips. This supercharged Atom 3 is currently in stock and ready for immediate delivery. Best of all, through new supplier agreements, the ability to complete more production in the US, and far less shipping and customs expenses, Ariel North America has been able to reduce the base price of the Atom 3 in 2010, as well as the cost of many options on the car. The Ariel Atom began life as a student project by Nik Smart, a Coventry University transport design student. First known as the LSC (Lightweight Sports Car), it was developed at the university in 1996 with input and funding from various automotive industry members. The car was first shown publicly at the British International Motor Show in October, 1996. There have been 3 Ariel Atom versions to date and this is the latest and greatest. The Ariel Atom 3 is powered by the fantastic Honda K20A Engine with a supercharger kit, producing the equivalent of approximately 650bhp per ton. These machines are true marvels of engineering and performance, providing an indescribable feeling to whomever is lucky enough to get some time behind the steering wheel.
